Like Bono and Sir Bob Geldof before her, Dua Lipa is a pop star who isn’t afraid of getting political. In an interview with Rolling Stone, the singer has weighed into the conversation about the Gaza war. “I feel so bad for every Israeli life lost and what happened on October 7,” the singer said.
“What we have to look at is how many lives have been lost in Gaza, and the innocent civilians. There are just not enough world leaders that are taking a stand and speaking up about the humanitarian crisis that’s happening, the humanitarian ceasefire that has to happen.”
She added that because she is a pop star, some “don’t want you to be political”. It’s not her first foray into politics. Last year Lipa, who holds British and Albanian citizenship, branded then home secretary Suella Braverman “shortsighted and small-minded” for her claim that the UK was suffering an “invasion” of “Albanian criminals”.
OK, that's a rash!
Andrew Scott, of Fleabag fame, came out in a rash while filming his upcoming flick All of Us Strangers with co-star Paul Mescal, the director revealed at a special screening. The film follows two gay men, played by Scott and Mescal, pictured, in a will-they-won’t-they situation.
Andrew Haigh, who wrote and directed the film, decided to shoot some scenes at his childhood home, which had mould in it. “I remember Andrew, when he was working there, he probably won’t want me to say this, he got a rash on his back,” Haigh said.
“I had this eczema that started coming back again. It was like our bodies… you know me and Andrew both grew up in the Nineties and were coming to terms with our sexualities. It’s like our bodies started showing whatever that thing is we carried around with us.” Skin conditions aside, Scott and Mescal managed to power through the various sex scenes demanded by the script.
