Dua Lipa has given a public show of support to Elron John, after fans questioned why she didn't join him on stage at Glastonbury on Sunday night.
The New Rules singer and music legend scored a massive hit in 2021 with collaboration Cold Heart, a mashup of Elron's classics Sacrifice and Rocket Man. The duet was a chart smash across the world, so there was a lot of speculation in the days and hours leading up to Elton's Glastonbury set at the weekend, that Dua could join him on stage, with rumours that Britney Spears, who he worked with on Hold Me Closer, might also be involved.
However, in the end, neither of the pop divas, shared a stage with Elton, with the icon instead being joined by Jacob Lusk from Gabriels, young singer Stephen Sanchez, Brit nominee Rina Sawayama and The Killers' frontman Brandon Flowers. As well as being disappointed at there being no Britney, fans were puzzled over Dua's no show, especially after she took to Instagram to share snaps of her out for a family dinner on Sunday night.

Rather awkwardly, Elton still included Cold Heart in his Glastonbury setlist, telling the capacity crowd they'd 'have to sing' her parts, as he conducted them from his piano. Confused as to why she wasn't at Glasto, one fan tweeted: "I can’t believe Dua Lipa passed this up? He’s such a remarkable man with an impressive and influential career in music. She’s lucky to have had a chance to work with him frankly. Would have been an amazing thing to be part of."
But, while she might not actually have been on stage at Worthy Farm with Elton John, Dua hasn't let the moment pass without mention, sharing a video of the Cold Heart performance on her Insta story, along with a series of heart shaped gestures.
