Drunk holidaymaker missed flight and woke up in police cell after having a 'few vodkas'

A drunk holidaymaker planning to fly out to to Italy woke up in a police cell with no recollection of how he got there, a court heard. David Ballantyne became drunk and 'aggressive' towards staff after having a 'few vodkas' in the departure lounge before his flight to Sorrento, BirminghamLive reports.

The 55-year-old claimed he took medication which did not mix well with alcohol. Ballantyne, of Patterdale in Rugby, attended Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday and admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
