Drugs seized, woman trapped in car and camera catches hooded man

Good afternoon, these are the latest lunchtime ECHO headlines.

Man and woman arrested after £30k of crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis seized

Police arrested a man and a woman on suspicion of drug offences.

Officers on patrol searched a 35-year-old man on Newling Street in Birkenhead at around 6.45pm on Friday, March 4.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "Officers have arrested a man and a woman for drugs offences following an incident on Friday evening (4th March).

"A search of a nearby property was also conducted where a 26-year-old woman was arrested for possession with intent to supply drugs after a search revealed a number of weapons and a large amount of drugs including around 2,500 wraps of crack cocaine, uncut heroin, multiple bags of brown powder and approx. 2kg of cannabis bush."

Roof removed from car as woman trapped after crash

Merseyside fire and rescue removing the roof on a car on Vittoria Street, Birkenhead (Liverpool ECHO)

A woman was trapped inside a Corsa following a two car crash.

Emergency services were called to Vittoria Street, in Birkenhead, after reports of a crash between a Corsa and Mercedes.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire and Rescue service told the ECHO: "I can confirm that Fire Crews were called to a Road Traffic Collision on Vittoria Street, Birkenhead this morning.

"Two fire engines and the Search and Rescue Team are in attendance, as are North West Ambulance Service."

Mum 'in shock' after camera catches hooded man peering into her home

A woman has urged others to "remain vigilant" after catching someone trying her door handles while she was putting her baby to bed.

The woman, who wished to not be named, said on Sunday evening at around 8pm she and her partner had planned to have an early night before they "heard a noise" outside.

She said: "At that time on a Sunday night everyone puts their bins out so we assumed it was next door but when we were alerted to motion I checked the camera and it was on the floor.

"My boyfriend went to the side window to see if he could see anything and there was a lad with his face covered and he was looking around with his torch on his phone."
