Drugs fell out of pocket of new jeans mum bought for son, 13

A mum found a packet of what appears to be ecstasy tablets in the pocket of a new pair of jeans she bought for her son from a High Street shop. She bought a £115.99 pair of jeans from Flannels for her son, aged 13.

The jeans, which were ordered online, were brand new, with tags. She said: "My son could have thought they were sweets." She contacted Flannels and police immediately.

Police collected the bag and are carrying out enquiries, reports PlymouthLive. A customer service team leader for Flannels told Natalie that a "full investigation" will be carried out and apologised for the "totally unacceptable" incident.

It said that "clear errors" had been made in the warehouse. "Luckily I was present when the parcel was opened," she said. "He could have died.

"It's my 13-year-old-son's birthday present and he's opened it and had to witness drugs falling out. I don't feel like it's good enough. It's a multi-million pound company and they are offering me £250 but I've had to keep drugs in my house to wait for police to come and get them. I haven't slept, I'm so stressed."

Flannels confirmed that a full refund of £115.99 for the ordered item had been processed on the day she contacted them, along with a £250 voucher to be used as compensation. It also issued a 20% discount code with free next-day delivery.

"I'm really not happy with their response," she continued. "It's just not good enough."

A police spokesperson said enquiries are ongoing. Flannels was contacted for comment.
