Drugs and firearms 'worth around £60,000' recovered by police in Scottish city

DRUGS with an estimated street value of around £60,000 have been recovered along with a number of firearms at an address in Glasgow.

Around 8am on August 25, officers executed a warrant at a property on Harefield Drive.

They recovered around 750g of cocaine and 9.7kg of herbal cannabis. A number of firearms and ammunition were also seized.

A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with various offences and was due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today (Monday).

Detective chief inspector David Lamont said: “This is a significant recovery and is an example of our efforts to disrupt the trade in illegal drugs in Scotland.

“It also underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.

“We would continue to urge anyone with information or concerns about drugs and firearms activity in their area to contact Police Scotland on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
