A suspected drug dealer crashed into a brick wall after a high-speed police chase near Heathrow.

Officers in a marked BMW X5 saw the male driver run a red light in his Toyota Prius.

When he roared off, police pursued him down the A312 The Parkway from Hayes to Cranford at roughly 5pm on Tuesday.

Footage on social media shows the Toyota written off when it slammed into a wall on the Waggoners Roundabout, near Bath Road.

The man fled on foot but was soon caught by officers who arrested him on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. He remains in custody.

A witness who filmed the aftermath is overheard saying: “It’s not looking good brev [meaning brethren], it’s not looking good.”

A Metropolitan Police officer looks on at the wreckage as the Toyota’s windscreen wipers continue to function.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “Shortly after 5pm on Tuesday, October 4, officers in a marked police car spotted a silver Toyota drive through a red light.

“The vehicle then drove away from police and a short pursuit continued onto the A312, before the Toyota stopped and the driver got out of the vehicle and ran away.

“He was subsequently detained after a short foot chase. He was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for police, dangerous driving and possession with intent to supply class A drugs. He has been taken into custody.”
