A house described by neighbours as a drug hotspot has been forced to close by a Nottinghamshire council. The property in St Mary's Way, Hucknall, has been linked to high levels of crime, anti-social behaviour and drug activity over the past few months, Ashfield District Council said.
The authority obtained a closure order on Thursday, September 15, which will prevent anyone from accessing the property, including the occupiers, for a period of 3 months.
Neighbours told Nottinghamshire Live it was a step in the right direction. Katherine Jones, who lives next door, said: “We moved on this road a year ago, so it has been going on for a year at least. You can hear cars going to that address all the time. It is a hotspot for drug dealers and all sorts of anti-social behaviour.”
