Drug dealing Glasgow gran chased to repay £45k and jailed for 20 months

A drug dealing gran is being chased by prosecutors to repay more than £45,000.

Moira Robertson, 65, was snared with £51,000 of cash and £24,000 of cocaine at her home on June 20, 2019.

Her co-accused Helen Wright, 67, was also caught with drugs while police raided the property in Glasgow's Baillieston.

The friends had kept the drugs in order to pay off a debt accrued by Robertson's son.

Wright was jailed for 18 months and Robertson received a 20-month sentence.

The Crown claim that Robertson benefited £58,450 from the drugs and the cash.

But, it was conceded at a proceeds of crime hearing in Glasgow Sheriff Court that £45,450 was available to recoup.

It was agreed by Robertson's lawyer Neil Kilcoyne that the cash is available from black bags found in the property.

Sheriff Barry Divers asked Mr Kilcoyne: "The only issue in dispute is £9,000 from a black money box?"

Mr Kilcoyne replied: "Yes."

The lawyer claimed that the money was a pay-out from the Department of Work and Pensions as well as some savings.

He also disputed the Crown attributing 553 grams of cocaine recovered as belonging to her.

Wright meantime accepted that her benefit of £2,815 found in a handbag should be recovered as well as six grams of cocaine.

A further proceeds of crime hearing was fixed for next month.
