Thousands of pounds of ill-gotten cash has been seized from drug dealers and given to the Anthony Walker Foundation.
A new initiative, first started earlier this year, sees monies taken from peddlers of illicit substances sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court and handed to charities across our region. Each month, judges pick a different good cause to be the beneficiary of these funds.
For July, the Anthony Walker Foundation was named as the nominated charity. The court has now confirmed that the month's collected sum of £7,525.06 has been donated.

The organisation was founded following the racist murder of 17-year-old Anthony Walker in Huyton, the 17th anniversary of which fell on July 30 this year. The charity now works to tackle racism and hate crime through a range of initiatives across Merseyside, including education and victim support.
A spokesman said: “We at the Anthony Walker Foundation are grateful to his honour Judge David Swinnerton and his colleagues for this donation. The extra funds will enable us to do more good work across the Mersey region, especially as we see an increase in reported hate crimes.
"July 30 2022 was 17 years since Anthony Walker’s life was cut short, and the evil actions of a few people took him away from his family in a racist murder. The murder of Anthony shocked the country and people living in Merseyside to its core.
"However soon after this brutal murder, Gee Walker, his mother, and his siblings made a profound decision that we should celebrate Anthony’s life and they wanted to create positive change from such tragedy."
