A drug dealer stashed almost £30,000 worth of heroin and cannabis in his children's rucksacks in a desperate attempt to avoid being caught by police.
Simon Rogers was pulled over by officers while driving a stolen Audi, the Liverpool Echo reports. His two young sons were in the back of the car at the time.
The 'panicked' dad-of-three, from Formby, almost got away with his audacious attempt, but officers ultimately discovered the drugs alongside tens of thousands of pounds in cash. On Wednesday, Liverpool Crown Court heard that the owner of the grey Audi Q2 awoke at 6am on June 10 this year to find that her SUV had been taken from outside her house in Gateshead overnight.
