A drug dealer was caught in bed with a huge haul of drugs and cash after police raided his hotel room.
Drug dealer Joshua Wood was jailed after police raided his hotel room and uncovered a stash of drugs and money. Officers from Greater Manchester Police's anti-gangs operation received reports that Wood had been dealing drugs from his car and staying in a hotel in the Worsley area of Salford.
Manchester Crown Court heard Wood, of Marston Gardens, Ellesmere Port, was lying in bed when Operation Naseby officers raided his hotel room. The 31-year-old admitted to officers he had drugs hidden in the drawers. Officers found over 250g of cocaine, around 150 class C pills, a small quantity of cannabis, and around £1,200 in cash.

Wood's phone was seized by officers, proving evidence of him making money through the sale of drugs. The drug dealer initially tried to claim the huge stash of drugs was all for his personal use.
But Greater Manchester Police charged Wood with possession with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis, possession with intent to supply class C drugs, possession of class A drugs including MDMA, possession of Class C drugs, and money laundering.
Wood later admitted to all the offences he was accused of. He was sentenced to a 42-month jail term which he started earlier this month.
Wood's arrest is one of over 300 made by the Operation Naseby task force set up in April 2020 to tackle organised and serious crime. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Our commitment to maintaining the crackdown on weapons, criminals, drugs and their assets is hoped will continue to drive down violent crime on our streets even further as our work sustains without relent. We've been able to conduct well over 130 house searches thanks to intelligence we have received from the public, and we continue to urge anyone with information or concerns to contact us online via LiveChat, if able, or by calling 101. Details can be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
