The mother of drowned actress Nida "Tangmo" Patcharaveerapong said on Friday she forgave the two male companions with her daughter on the speedboat the night she died, but not the others.
During an interview on the Hone Krasae programme on TV Channel 3, Ms Panida Siriyuthayothin said she forgave Tanupat "Por" Lerttaweewit, the speedboat owner, and Phaiboon "Robert" Trikanjananun, the boat driver on that fateful Feb 24 night.
Ms Panida said Por phoned her the following day and apologised, and said he wanted to also meet her and apologise in person, Ms Panida said.
At first, she remained angry with Por, but he kept phoning her, every day, apologising and promising to take care of her.
"He promised to take care of me as well as (Tang)Mo did. I forgive him because he has consistently tried to contact me and he knows I am hurting," Ms Panida said.
She said she would accept compensation from Por, who promised to give her the sum that she had calculated.
"Let's say if Mo earned one million baht from a TV series. If she had lived for 30 more years I could multiply that sum by 30. This still excludes lost income from photo sessions as a model," Ms Panida said. Her daughter was 37 when she died.
She said she also forgave Robert, because he had accompanied Por to see her.
Ms Panida denied the suggestion her forgiveness was based on the compensation she expected to receive.
She expressed disappointment with some of Tangmo's close friends who, she said, gave interviews about their funeral plans for Tangmo without checking with her first. She already had her own plans for her daughter's funeral.
Ms Panida said she did not forgive Tangmo's manager, Idsarin "Gatick" Juthasuksawat, because Gatick did not contact her about the death of Tangmo until three days afterwards. She also accused Gatick of causing her daughter's death.
Tangmo, 37, fell into the Chao Phraya River near Pibul 1 pier in Muang district of Nonthaburi around 10.40pm on Feb 24. Her body was found about 1pm on Saturday.
