Drones Spotted Over Wright-Patterson Air Force Base In Ohio

A Swedish air crew prepares a JAS Gripen fighter jet for takeoff at Kallax Air Base

Over the weekend, small drones were sighted over Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio, as confirmed by base officials. The Chief of Public Affairs at Wright-Patterson AFB, stated that 'small unmanned aerial systems' were observed over and around the Air Force base between Friday and Saturday. Fortunately, no impact on base residents, facilities, or assets has been reported so far.

The installation leaders are actively taking measures to ensure the safety of Wright-Patterson and its residents. Continuous monitoring of the airspace is being conducted, and collaboration with local authorities is ongoing to safeguard base personnel, facilities, and assets. Individuals are urged to report any suspicious activities, including drone or unmanned aerial system sightings, to local police or Security Forces personnel.

This incident occurs amidst a growing concern over the surge in drone sightings in various regions such as New Jersey and New York. In New Jersey, drones have been spotted near military research facilities and Trump's Bedminster golf course.
