An abandoned West Lothian shopping centre has been explored from above by a drone expert, shining a new light on the former designer village.
The Freeport Shopping Village and Leisure Park, near Five Sisters Zoo, opened its doors in September 1996, promising to be Scotland's number-one place for the biggest brands.
There were over 40 stores and cafes as well as a host of leisure attractions at the time of its unveiling. Plans were drawn up in 1997 to expand the retail space to add an indoor snow sports centre and a golf course.

However, the opening of Livingston Designer Outlet in October 2000 heavily impacted the Freeport area, as it dropped in popularity and footfall declined.
In November 2004, the complex closed and, despite various plans to redevelop the site, the buildings remain empty and the car park overgrown.
One urban explorer, called Scotland From Above on YouTube, took history-lovers on a trip down memory lane with a tour of the abandoned shopping centre from above.
In the drone video, watchers are taken on a tour of the village, showing what once used to be a busy shopping centre.
Now, nature has taken over as grass and thickets of bush cover areas that were once shop doors. The 'Welcome to Freeport' sign has aged significantly, only showing 'Welcome to' now.
The small bandstand in the middle of the shopping village is rusted over and the paint has disintegrated, with the empty walkways giving an eerie feel throughout the tour.

And where the busy car park once stood, is an overgrown area of bushes, trees and other nature - with the pedestrian crossings now the only visible areas to distinguish the place where people used to park before visiting the centre.
The iconic Five Sisters hills sit behind this abandoned area, which is no longer accessible to the public.
