Drivers in Ireland are being warned about the potential need for limits on fuel per person should the worst-case scenario arise this winter.
According to plans drawn up by the government to cope in the midst of a fuel crisis, each driver could be capped at 15 to 20 litres per visit to the pump in order to avoid mass shortages.
Officials are working together to put plans in place to ensure essential industries remain operating and healthcare settings remain heated.
