Motorists had an "amazing" escape as they avoided injury in a two-car crash in which one vehicle ended up on its roof in a town centre street.
Emergency services were called to Lugsdale Road in Widnes at 5pm on Thursday following reports of a collision. A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said officers found a white Vauxhall Mokka and black Vauxhall Corsa were involved.
The street was shut to traffic while emergency services tended to the scene. Police in Widnes posted a picture on social media showing the cordon and a distant view of the overturned Mokka, with an ambulance waiting nearby.

An update at 5.59pm said that “amazingly” no-one was injured, followed by a further post at 6.26pm to say the road had reopened.
The force spokeswoman told the ECHO: “At 5pm on Thursday, August 18, police were called to a collision on Lugsdale Road, Widnes.
“Officers attended the scene and found the incident involved two vehicles, a white Vauxhall Mokka and a black Vauxhall Corsa.
“One of the vehicles had overturned and the road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.
“There were no reports of any injuries and no arrests were made.”
