Motorists in the UK are being advised to ensure their car licence plates are road legal before the new '23' change comes into play. People could be faced with a £1,000 fine if they don't closely follow the rules in place.
Drivers across England, Scotland and Wales will be impacted by the first 2023 licence changes on March 1. The "72" plate representing all new cars registered in the later part of 2022 was issued in September and before that, the "22" plate was rolled out last March.
Licence plates have to adhere to certain specifications to be road legal with many changes made to them throughout the years that drivers may not be aware of.
