A driver jailed for seriously injuring a cabbie in a crash has been handed an additional prison sentence for peddling cocaine. Dean Beeching smashed into the side of a taxi near Nottingham City Hospital, injuring the taxi driver and his passenger, then fled the scene.
He was jailed last April for a total of three-and-a-half years - 13 months for the driving offence, and 29 months for unrelated drug dealing offences in Derbyshire.
Now, as he serves that sentence, has been given a 26-month consecutive term for possessing cocaine with intent to supply. He was on bail for the driving matter and drug charges when he told patrolling police he "had a bit of sniff" in his possession in Nottingham Road, Hucknall, on October 3, 2020.
