An enraged driver who killed a man and left five others in hospital when he drove into random pedestrians in London’s West End last Christmas in a suspected racist and homophobic attack has been found guilty of murder.
Anthony Gilheaney, 30, mounted the kerb repeatedly “like a maniac” while at the wheel of a Mercedes in Shaftesbury Avenue, shortly after he had left a nightclub in the early hours of Christmas morning 2024.
