A driver spotted by police at a standstill on the M56 was using their phone to search for directions.
North West Motorway Police say the the light blue Kia Picanto stopped on the M56 near junction 3 for Altrincham and Wythenshawe on Saturday afternoon.
The car had parked up on a 'tigers tail' - chevron markings that guide traffic when a motorway splits.
