Lifeguards were called out after a car got stuck in the sand.
Yesterday at 6.15, lifeguards from Hoylake RNLI were called to reports of a vehicle stuck in the sand at Leasowe Bay as the tide was coming in. Photos taken by a passerby show what appears to be an Audi A4 submerged in water.
The Wirral Coastguard Rescue Team was already at the scene and the RNLI stood down upon arrival once it was confirmed everyone had safely returned to shore.

A post on the RNLI Hoylake Lifeboat Station Facebook page said: "Hoylakes RNLI hovercraft, 'Hurley Spirit', was tasked to launch by the UK Coastguard at 6.15pm yesterday to reports of a vehicle stuck in the sand at Leasowe Bay as the tide was fast approaching.
"With Wirral Coastguard Rescue Team already at the scene, the hovercraft and her volunteer crew were stood down upon arrival once confirmed all persons had safely returned to shore. The hovercraft returned to the station for a wash down ahead of this evening's exercise at 6pm."
Hoylake RNLI hovercraft commander Matt Pownall-Jones said: "RNLI crews and the Coastguard are regularly called out to people in difficulty on this stretch of the coast due to the flooding tides quickly cutting people off.
"We would advise anyone thinking of heading out across the beach to always check the tide times, weather, and local safety signage. Always carry a means of calling for help and in an emergency at the coast, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard."
