A driver was left trapped in their car after it caught fire just off the A52 in Bramcote. They had to be rescued by a man who forced the doors of the car open during the incident on Wednesday, May 18.
Fire crews were called to extinguish the blaze and the driver managed to escape the fire unharmed but "shaken". They had noticed smoke coming from the engine after their power completely failed, bringing the car off the busy road - but the doors locked due to the electrical failure.
Stapleford Fire Station attended the incident and now want to find the good samaritan who helped to force the doors open - they had been travelling in a white van nearby. The car was completely destroyed after the fire.
