A driver has died after a crash on the M6 this morning.
Emergency services were called to the southbound side of the M6 between Broughton and junction 31 at Samlesbury around 4.15am, after reports that a car had crashed on the slip road at Junction 31. No other vehicles are thought to be involved.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene and officers are still working to inform their next of kin. Investigation work has taken place, with the carriageway now partially open following the collision. Lancashire Police has since confirmed that police are no longer at the scene but repairs are currently taken place on the carriageway.

National Highways North West said at 1.27pm: "The M6 southbound is now open from J31A to J31 following the earlier collision. Contractors are in the process of removing the traffic management from J32 and the M55 link road. The M6 southbound from J32 - J31A remains closed whilst this is completed."
A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: "The M6 remains closed on the southbound side between Broughton and junction 31 at Samlesbury following a collision in the early hours of this morning (Sunday). We were called at around 4.15am to reports a car had crashed on the slip road at junction 31. No other vehicles are thought to have been involved.
"The driver of the vehicle was sadly pronounced dead at the scene and we are still working to ensure their next of kin have all been informed, so understandably cannot say more at this time. We remain at the scene carrying out investigative work."
"Please avoid the area and find alternative routes where possible. We will update you when the motorway reopens."
