Driver of 100mph ‘rogue’ electric car charged with driving offence

The driver of an £80,000 electric car which had to be rammed off the road by motorway police after it “went rogue” at 100mph has been charged with a motoring offence and fraud.

Nathan Owen, 32, said his vehicle’s brake’s failed and he lost control of his Jaguar I-Pace as it tore down the motorway between Liverpool and Manchester with him trapped inside unable to control the car due to an “electrical fault”.
