A drunk driver killed a man and left five others in hospital when he drove “like a maniac” at random pedestrians in London’s West End last Christmas, the Old Bailey has heard.
Anthony Gilheaney, 30, was in a “drink-fuelled rage” when he mounted the kerb repeatedly while at the wheel of a Mercedes in Shaftesbury Avenue, it is said, shortly after he had left a club in the early hours of Christmas morning 2024.
