A man died, and another was hospitalised after a horror three-car crash at Gillieston Heights, just south of Maitland, on Friday night, August 2.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene on Cessnock Road at about 7.30pm, where they found three vehicles crashed. The 44-year-old driver of one of the vehicles died at the scene, police said in a statement.
Another 40-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman were treated by paramedics at the scene before the man was taken to hospital for further treatment.
Port Stephens-Hunter police officers established a crime scene later examined by specialist officers and said a report would be prepared for the coroner.
