A driver was taken to hospital after a two car crash on the M53 this evening.
Emergency services were called to the M53 southbound just before junction four (Clatterbridge) at 5.43pm on Friday, January 13. Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service sent two fire engines to the scene a short time later.
Both vehicles were on all four wheels when firefighters arrived and drivers were not believed to be seriously injured. An ambulance took one of the drivers to hospital for further checks.

Police initially closed two lanes of traffic while emergency services attended. Police have since opened one more lane to help traffic flow.
National Highways reported two miles worth of tailbacks on the road, with eyewitnesses saying they were at a "standstill for ages".
A spokesperson from North West Motorway Policing Unit said: "Police and National Highways are still dealing with a collision on M53 southbound between junctions 3 and 4.
"Just lane 1 closed now. Traffic is very heavy in the area but should hopefully start flowing a bit better with lanes 2 and 3 open."
A spokesperson from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said: "Fire crews were called to the Southbound carriageway of the M53 between junction 3&4 this evening after a road traffic collision involving two vehicles. Crews were alerted at 5.33pm and on scene at 5.43pm, with two fire engines in attendance.
"Crews arrived to find two cars on all four wheels, with both drivers out of the car and not seriously injured. An ambulance took one driver to hospital for further checks, the other driver was unharmed. The Highways agency and Motorway Police were also on scene assisting with traffic management.
"Crews made the area Safe and left the scene at 7.13pm."
