BENGALURU: A former driver who had been recently dismissed from his job was arrested on Monday after admitting to the murder of a senior geologist in her residence in Bengaluru.
The victim, Prathima K S, who worked in the Department of Mines and Geology, had employed the driver, Kiran, for four years. However, he was replaced and subsequently let go from his position about a week before the incident.
Under police interrogation, the 32-year-old driver confessed that he killed Prathima because he was upset over losing his job and that he often received scoldings for his careless driving. He had apologized and pleaded with the 45-year-old geologist to reinstate him, but when she refused, he took her life.
