POLICE are investigating after the driver of a vehicle fled the scene of a crash where the vehicle they were travelling in hit a parked car and ran through a fence, landing in a front yard.
Just before 7pm Monday November 11 emergency services were called to Railway Street, Teralba, to reports of a multi-vehicle accident.
Police, paramedics and NSW Fire and Rescue attended the scene to find two significantly damaged vehicles, one with a missing bumper, crushed bonnet and rear-end damage, and no one behind the wheel.
Officers were told the white sedan hit a Volkswagen parked in the street before it careened off the road, through a fence and came to rest in the driveway of a neighbouring property.
Lake Macquarie police collected witness reports and believe a male driver and passenger left the scene prior to police arrival.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has commenced.
Both vehicles were removed from the scene and NSW Fire and Rescue crews rendered the area safe.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
