Cops have ridiculed a driver who 'ran out of talent' after a short pursuit near Manchester Airport came to a dramatic end. Officers who were patrolling Wythenshawe overnight had tried to bring a silver Volkswagen Golf to a stop close to the airport.
But after failing to stop, Greater Manchester Police says the Golf's driver tried to escape officers. The chase came to an abrupt end though, when the driver crashed the Golf after 40 seconds of being pursued.
Images from the scene show the with damage to the left-hand-side, while a front tyre appears to have burst. After speaking to the driver, GMP learned he should never have been behind wheel.

A spokesperson for GMP Wythenshawe said: "Officers from GMP Transport Unit were out on patrol in the Wythenshawe area this evening. Firstly, officers stopped a vehicle containing a disqualified driver who was arrested.
"Shortly after, officers spot another vehicle at the border with the airport whereby the driver decides not to stop when requested. A 40 second pursuit ensues before the driver ran out of talent and crashed his car.
