A driver in Nottinghamshire was clocked on speed camera travelling at a staggering 191mph.
Research carried out by Go Shorty, a provider of short-term car insurance, revealed the highest speeds caught on cameras across the country.
The motorist was caught driving at the whopping speed between junction 25 of the M1 for the A52 Brian Clough Way (Nottingham / Derby) and junction 26 for the A610 (Nottingham / Eastwood) heading southbound.
Their speed of 191mph was the highest recorded across the 25 counties included in the research, the next highest being 163mph recorded by Humberside Police.
By contrast, the highest speed clocked in Chester was 94mph.
The fastest recorded speeding ticket given out is 192mph, just 1mph faster than the speed clocked by Nottinghamshire Police.
The research also found that Nottinghamshire had the 13th most speed cameras, with 50 located across the county.
Derbyshire, meanwhile, has the second highest number of speed cameras at 958, the research has shown.
