Early Friday morning, a driver was arrested in Dublin after crashing his van into gates outside the offices of the Irish prime minister and several other government buildings. The incident caused significant damage, including knocking off the gate outside the attorney general's office and causing damage to Prime Minister Simon Harris's office.

Authorities are also investigating criminal damage at the official residence of President Michael Higgins, although it is unclear if this is related to the gate-crashing incident. The locations of the incidents are approximately 3 miles apart.
