A drink driver who killed a teenage waitress in a crash will be sent to jail.
Marcus Pasley, from Llangollen, North Wales, pleaded guilty to causing the death of his 19-year-old passenger Abby Hill while over the limit on July 3 last year.
Mold Crown Court heard how Miss Hill, from nearby Acrefair, was a passenger in Pasley's Renault Clio when he crashed in the Berwyn area shortly before midnight on July 3 last year.
The teenage waitress, who 'always had a smile on her beautiful face', was rushed to Wrexham Maelor Hospital and later transferred to the Royal Stoke University Hospital.
But she was pronounced dead two days later on July 5, 2021, despite doctors' efforts, NorthWalesLive reports.
The court heard that after the crash, Pasley was found to be over the legal alcohol limit after a blood sample was obtained.
His reading came back at 93 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood - the limit being 80.
The 26-year-old was told by a judge that custody was inevitable, and it was just a case of "how long" his sentence would be.
Judge Rhys Rowlands imposed an interim driving disqualification ahead of Pasley's sentencing date, scheduled for July 29.
His bail was extended until his next appearance before the court.
Following her death, Miss Hill's family said she was "a person which we will never forget".
They added: "She was the apple of our eye, who was just beginning to take on the world as a strong independent lady.
“Her personality stood out in all the things she did in life being hardworking as a full-time waitress at The Chainbridge Hotel, which she loved and had a huge impact there to the staff and customers.
The love and affection we have for her will always be with us and she will always be in our hearts leaving a huge impact on us as a family as well as everyone else that had the opportunity to get to know her.”
They added that she was "the life of the party and always had a smile on her beautiful face".
