Drew Barrymore's palm-leaf-hued kitchen exudes a timeless sense of glamor that experts love

Beautiful by Drew Barrymore.

With her aptly-named Beautiful homeware range, Drew Barrymore is already no stranger to shaping how we decorate our kitchens. However, appliances aside (for the moment, at least), the actress has unintentionally extended her influence to change how we paint in the most practical room of the home.

The California native, who now resides in New York, shared her renovated kitchen with the world, and there's a lot to say about the space. Despite its urban zip code, the room taps into an English country aesthetic, complete with antique-style wooden furnishings and vintage accessories (starting with her eclectic artwork choices).

Despite its many qualities, however, Drew's green kitchen paint – which she likens to a palm tree – has stirred the biggest reaction among those in the know.

Green, in all its varying tones, has shaped how we decorate our kitchens in recent seasons, and Drew's rich choice is a reminder of just how versatile the hue can be in every sized space.

The actress' 'palm tree green' choice perfectly pairs with her varying wooden tones while serving as a somewhat neutral backdrop that allows her kitchen artwork to make the statement she desires. It's the perfect hue for her walls, but as Benjamin Moore's color expert Helen Shaw explains, it's hard to go wrong with any shade of green.

'Green is a hugely versatile color, whether used as an accent color or in a full-on color drench look. Opt for a dark and shaded forest green such as Benjamin Moore's Gothic Green 637, reminiscent of the Renaissance period – this bolder shade will add drama and instill a sense of luxury,' she says.

'Rich jewel-toned shades work particularly well in the kitchen to create a dramatic, statement setting while also something that is inviting and atmospheric for kitchen dining.'

As mentioned, Drew has decorated with antique-style furnishings to complement her kitchen color and create a quintessential space that feels thousands of miles from New York. It's a look that hasn't gone unnoticed by Helen, who similarly recommends pairing rich greens with similar antiques and brass finishes.

'To finish the look, accessorize with vintage style pieces and touches of metallics such as traditional gold brassware or a retro drinks trolley to add a sense of timeless glamor.'

Drew's influence doesn't end with her inspiring antiques or deep green palette. We're almost certain she's made room for her Beautiful by Drew range somewhere along her wood countertops. We can do the same with these top picks from Walmart below.
