Dressage rider Hriday Chheda rues missing a second medal at Asian Games

MUMBAI: An unfortunate injury to his horse, Emerald, cost Hriday Chheda a certain gold medal in the individual dressage competition at the Hangzhou Asian Games last month, but the Mumbai lad says he gained a lot of confidence in return, which will aid his preparation for upcoming major international competitions.

“I was leading going into the final day and the gold medal was very much in sight, but my horse was nervous and probably stepped onto himself and nicked his left foreleg just before the final round,” Chheda informed TOI on Monday.
