The feud between the Warriors and Grizzlies continues to rage on, aided by the recent fiery comments from Dillon Brooks, in which he said he didn't like Draymond Green “at all” and didn't like “anything to do with” Golden State.
On Wednesday, Green clapped back at Brooks on his podcast, The Draymond Green Show, and he didn’t hold back one bit.
The Warriors forward, who indicated that he did not have a response for Brooks before diving into an animated rant aimed at the 27-year-old, called the Grizzlies wing an “idiot” before backing up his own career credentials.
“If you ever wondered why the Memphis Grizzlies is not ready to compete for a championship, look no further than this idiot right here. They’re actually depending on this guy to win a championship,” Green said of Brooks.
The 33-year-old didn’t stop there, however. After listing his accolades, including being a four-time NBA champion, two-time Olympic gold medalist, four-time All-Star and one-time Defensive Player of the Year, Green ridiculed Brooks for his lack of knowledge of basketball.
“Your level of understanding the game of basketball is at a fan level,” said the Warriors star. ""The dynasty starts after you. Not with you. That’s just a fact. I know dynasty-like players, and they aren’t clowns.”
This is a rivalry that doesn’t seem likely to fade away anytime soon. For NBA fans enjoying the beef, you’ll be pleased to know that if the regular season ended today, Memphis and Golden State would be slated to meet in the first round of the playoffs.
Brooks missed the Grizzlies’ most recent game due to a suspension, but should be ready to return in time for the clash against the Warriors on Thursday night in Memphis.
