Brandin Podziemski has been a smash hit for the Golden State Warriors since being drafted with the 19th overall pick during the summer. The rookie wing has received praise from his teammates and coaching staff in recent weeks. He has also earned himself a regular spot in the rotation due to his impact off the bench.
Following the Warriors’ win over the LA Clippers on Thursday (Nov. 30,) Draymond Green became the latest veteran to praise Podzeimski’s performance level. Green noted how the 20-year-old is already playing like a veteran and is making intelligent decisions on both sides of the floor.
“He’s a gamer,” Green said. “He’s a gamer, and he’s a competitor, and he’s smart. He’s a student of the game. He asks a million questions. Whether it’s to CP, me, or the coach, he’s always asking questions. He’ll come and sit next to you and listen…Every time his number’s been called, he’s stepped up…He reads the game. He’s solid. Doesn’t make mistakes, and that shows in him blowing up a play. Rookies don’t blow up plays. Rookies (expletive) plays, and he doesn’t.”
Steve Kerr has already stated that Podziemski will be part of the rotation for the rest of the season. He’s earned his spot and is averaging 6.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists over his first 13 NBA games, shooting 44.6% from the field and 41.9% from 3-point range.

Green recently returned to the rotation following a five-game suspension and has already helped improve the Warriors’ defense and organization. Golden State’s performance level has improved over their past two games, which should have fans feeling hopeful of a strong showing throughout December.
