The Golden State Warriors‘ core rotation players are all entering the final stages of their careers. Steph Curry is 35. Klay Thompson is 33. Draymond Green is 33. And recent point guard addition Chris Paul is 38. There’s no denying that, eventually, time will start catching up with the future Hall of Famers, no matter how elite their skill sets are.
During a recent sit down with Ernie Johnson and Charles Barkley, Green addressed Barkley’s comments about the Warriors roster “getting up there” in age. He also noted that despite time catching up with them, they’re one of the most experienced teams in the NBA.
“I think old sounds a little harsh,” Green said. “Old sounds as if we look like Chuck when he was out there with the Houston Rockets. Because that’s what old kind of sounds like to me. Ages are getting up there; you can’t deny that. In saying that, though, we are experienced. And I think the most important thing, and to Chuck’s point, is us staying healthy. We are definitely getting older, but that ain’t never stopped us from winning.”
Despite their increasing age, the Warriors are only one season removed from winning their last NBA championship. Since then, Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody have taken a step forward in their development, and rookies Brandin Podziemski and Trayce Jackson-Davis have joined the franchise. The Warriors have a solid blend of experienced star talent and young players with great potential.

The Warriors have a long season ahead of them. Yet, if they can stay healthy, they have a great chance of making some noise once the postseason begins.
