A huge wildfire was sparked close to an old tank farm in the Highlands.
Firefighters rushed to the scene affecting an area of gorse on Seabank Road, Invergordon, shortly after 7pm on Sunday, March 20.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service immediately dispatched four fire engines and a community response unit to the location.
Crews from Tain, Dingwall, Balintore and Inverness also attended and helped the team from Invergordon extinguish the inferno.
A heavy rescue unit from Inverness also attended and provided additional scene lighting before the area was made safe.
It's understood that the gorse is close to a former oil depot.
Local residents noted on social media that are also homes, a high school and distillery within easy range of the wildfire.
Churches in the area offered refuge and Network Rai temporarily suspended trains from travelling into and out of Invergordon.
However, it's believed no buildings were affected and that no evacuations were necessary.
The wildfire comes after Park Primary School on the town's Albany Road also caught fire for the third time less than a week ago.
Scottish Liberal Democrat candidate for Highland Council addressed the fire on her official Facebook page.
She wrote at the time: "Really concerned by reports of a fire on Seabank Road in Invergordon.
"The town has suffered disproportionately from major fires in recent years and I am praying that nobody is injured.
"Please stay clear of the area if you can."
Councillor Maxine Morley-Smith had also added: "So very sad if this is intentional."
An SFRS spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 7.08pm on Sunday, March 20, to reports of a wildfire affecting an area of gorse in Seabank Road, Invergordon.
“Operations control immediately mobilised four fire engines, a heavy rescue unit and a community response unit to the location and firefighters extinguished the fire.
“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
