A historic Scots bowling club which took pride of place in the community for more than 100 years has been left a burnt out shell after a major fire.
Devastating pictures of the inferno's aftermath show the Claremont Bowling Club in Milngavie is now missing its roof, doors and windows after flames ripped through the building yesterday.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 7am on Friday, November 25, following reports of a blaze.
Six appliances raced to the scene where they swiftly began tackling the flames, with water drawn from a nearby river to help, Glasgow Live reports.
Residents living nearby were told by police to close their windows and doors due to thick black smoke billowing into the air.
Hero fire crews remained on the ground throughout the day as they continued to dampen down the smouldering remains of the community hub.
No one was injured during the blaze, however, the cause of the fire is still to be determined by investigators.
