Last week New England Patriots fans caught a glimpse of the future when their rookie first-round quarterback Drake Maye started his first game of the season and put on a thrilling performance in a loss against the Houston Texans. Maye continued the pattern once again overseas in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Despite another loss under his belt Maye continues to impress with his arm talent, moxie, and level of football he is playing at in just his second start. On the day Maye put up 26 completions on 37 attempts, for 276 passing yards, and 2 touchdowns.

While there were some hiccups in the offense that ultimately only scored 16 points, it’s hard to place the blame on Maye, who is working behind one of the league’s least talented offensive lines and receiving rooms. He’s still keeping some elite company after two career starts,
Only two QBs since the merger have 500+ Pass Yards and 5+ Pass TD through 2 career starts

The start to Maye’s NFL journey is looking like a good one and he has a chance to really put up some solid numbers despite the talent around him. Maye will look to find his first win of the season next week as he takes on the spiraling New York Jets at home.
