Stars of the music world have united in their tributes to rapper Takeover who was fatally shot on Tuesday morning.
The musician, who made up one-third of the group Migos alongside Offset and Quavo, was shot dead after a reported altercation at a bowling alley in Houston, Texas. He was aged just 28.
A 23-year-old male and 24-year-old female were also hurt in the argument, Houston Police Department confirmed.
Now, tributes have poured in for the star whose real name is Kirshnik Khari Ball.
Among those leaving heartfelt messages was Drake, who had featured on the band's hit song Walk It Talk It. He wrote on Instagram : "Takeoff is an incredible man and a beautiful person all around. @yrntakeoff energy was always beautiful filled wit so much love and so much great energy @yrntakeoff we love you brother."
Former Destiny's Child star Kelly Rowland also took to the platform to share her disbelief, writing: "Keeping his family in my prayers!! There are no words…," while singer-songwriter Tayana Taylor said: "Please tell me this is just a bad dream pleaseeeeeeee I don’t want to believe this lil bro please."
Fellow rapper Ja Rule took to Twitter to urge such acts of violence to end. He said: "Rip Takeoff… this s*** has to STOP… sending love to friends and family."
And Outkast also used Twitter to share a message of condolence. Alongside an image of the star read the message "Rest in peace, Takeoff. Sending our deepest condolences and prayers to his family, friends and community of people touched by his craft."
Among the other stars paying tribute was the YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, who slammed the "senseless killings". Talking to his 4.4 million followers, he penned: "Senseless killings need to stop. Need to unify. RIP TAKEOFF. To all the youth…put down the guns and pick up some boxing gloves to settle your differences. Violence is not the answer."
Kylie Jenner, who is dating musician Travis Scott, shared one of Takeoff's songs to her Instagram Story and sadly said: "So many prayers. God cover this family. Heartbreaking. Gone too soon. Devastating," alongside a broken heart emoji.
The incident is said to have occurred as the star was playing a dice game with his bandmate Quavo. It's alleged a fight then broke out, with police being called to the shooting at 2.34am. Sadly, Takeoff was dead when officers arrived.
Takeoff and Migos rose to fame in 2013 - five years after forming - with their hit single titled Versace. During their time as a band, the trio featured on tracks alongside Nicki Minaj and Offset's wife, Cardi B.
Following the band's split earlier this year, Quavo and Takeoff performed under the name Unc & Phew, releasing an album last month titled Only Built for Infinity Links.
