Drag Race UK icon Choriza May and Eurovision star to lead cast in adult pantomime Sinderella

What do you get if you mix a Drag Race UK icon, a former Eurovision act and a clutch of Drag Idol legends? The answer is the cast of adult pantomime Sinderella, which will turn the air blue in County Durham later this month.

While some still have a few shows left of playing to packed audiences, the majority of pantos in the North East have now brought their curtains down on another successful festive season. But the innuendos, camp tomfoolery and wise cracks aren't over yet; far from it as Chester-le-Street's Park View complex will be be home to Sinderella on January 20 and 21, with a cast full of well known faces lined up to appear in the 18+ spectacle.

Three years ago Choriza May was about to set foot on stage for the first time as a contestant in Drag Idol Newcastle and the rest they say is history, or HERstory, as she went onto win the much watched contest in fine style, before going onto grace the main stage at Northern Pride as one of her prizes.

Choriza then saw her star rise to new levels as she strutted down the runway in the third series of TV juggernaut Drag Race UK, releasing original music after her appearance on the BBC show, making a return to the Pride stage in Newcastle last summer, as the city hosted UK Pride and getting to perform at the City Hall on the Drag Race tour.

She isn't the only star in the cast of Sinderella, Scooch's own David Ducasse will be 'flying the flag' for South Shields, as the Eurovision entrant takes on the role of Dandini.

Any avid fans of Drag Idol Newcastle will definitely welcome the ugly sisters - judge Penni T and 2015 runner-up Dixie Swallows, while more recent finalist Cher Floyd will also be involved.

The cast is completed by Jonny James as the Prince, Craig Richardson as Buttons and Nathalie Baxter as Cinderella.
