Toothless, bloodless and lacking in bite, this arch spoof of Bram Stoker’s vampire tale is not nearly funny enough. Written by New Yorkers Gordon Greenberg (who also directs) and Steve Rosen, it imagines Dracula (played by hunky Canadian James Daly) as a ripped bisexual sybarite.
All biceps and blithe Eurotrash entitlement, he sees humanity as fuel for his ego as well as his eternal appetites. This is probably the 567th take on the “sexy vampire as metaphor” among the over 700 versions of Dracula produced since the novel was published in 1897, but we are where we are.
