New Brisbane Heat captain Georgia Redmayne returned to working as a doctor this year and she will now be tasked with helping cure the side's ailing form of last season.

The wicketkeeper/batter takes over from allrounder Jess Jonassen, who led the side for the past six WBBL seasons.
