A FAMILY-owned company has bought a holiday park on the shores of Loch Ness as it plans to build dozens of luxury holiday cottages in the next year.
The asset management company The Seventy Ninth Group has acquired a £15 million project in Drumnadrochit, south of Inverness, as it plans to construct holiday homes.
The firm confirmed it aims to develop and build more than 30 luxury two-, three- and four-bedroom lodges in the next 12 months at the 17.5-acre site.
According to Visit Scotland, more than two million people visited the Highlands in 2023 and spent more than £7m while in the area.
Jake Webster, managing director of The Seventy Ninth Group, said the purchase of the site is an “exciting opportunity” for the firm to delve further into the tourism industry.
He said: “The Scottish Highlands, and Loch Ness in particular, have long been a top draw for domestic and international tourists seeking stunning natural beauty, rich history, and a quintessential luxury retreat.
“This acquisition represents an exciting opportunity to establish a premier hospitality offering in one of the UK’s most iconic regions.”
The Seventy Ninth Group was founded by entrepreneur David Webster and his sons, Jake and Curtis.
