Doug Pederson provides updates on 8 Jaguars injured vs. Bengals

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ injury luck ran out Monday night.

After entering a Week 13 game against the Cincinnati Bengals with only one player out due to injury (tight end Brenton Strange), the Jaguars suddenly have a lengthy list of players dealing with issues.

None is more important than quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who appeared to suffer a serious ankle injury late in the game. While it initially looked to be a devastating issue, Jaguars coach Doug Pederson gave a relatively positive update on the third-year quarterback Tuesday.

Pederson’s update on wide receiver Christian Kirk wasn’t as positive, though.

Here’s everything Pederson said about the players who were banged up, some seriously and some not so bad, on Monday night against the Bengals:

QB Trevor Lawrence

“It’s a right high ankle sprain,” Pederson said of Lawrence. “Everything is stable, everything looks good. We’ll see where he is in a couple of days.”

Pederson was later asked if Lawrence could play in Week 14 against the Cleveland Browns.

“I’m not going to put that time table on Trevor, I’m not going to put him in a box like that. We’ll see how he is in a couple of days.”

WR Christian Kirk

“Christian has a core muscle injury, he’s going to miss some time, he’ll be out,” Pederson said of Kirk. “I believe [he’ll need surgery]. We’re going to send the images off and get another look at it, make sure that we have the right diagnosis and the right plan of attack for Christian moving forward.”

OT Walker Little

“Walker has a left hamstring strain, we’ll see where he’s at strength wise and stability in a couple of days on that,” Pederson said of Little.

Pederson added that Little’s injury didn’t happen on the same play as Lawrence’s and that it happened earlier in the game.

CB Tre Herndon

“Tre will be in the concussion protocol,” Pederson said of Herndon. “With Tre being in protocol right now, this would be a great opportunity for both of those guys (Greg Junior and Antonio Johnson) to continue to work.”

CB Tyson Campbell

“No hamstring. He got a little bit of a right quad strain in the game in overtime,” Pederson said of Campbell. “He’ll be day-to-day.”

DL Folorunso Fatukasi

Corey Perrine/Florida Times-Union

“Foley’s is more left heel contusion,” Pederson said of Fatukasi. “He’ll be day-to-day.”

S Andre Cisco

“Cisco just had his shoulder in the game, everything was fine,” Pederson said. “Put a harness on him and went back in and played. He’ll be fine this week.”

CB Gregory Junior

“Antonio Johnson came in because Greg Junior was cramping during the game. He was the next guy up there,” Pederson said.
