A new update for Dota 2 is here and that means changes are coming to heroes. There are the usual buffs and nerfs but from the look of things, it seems that Tinker may have been the one that's affected the most, in a negative way.
We say that because March of the Machines is back and has replaced the Heat-Seeking Missile ability. It was back in Update 7.30 when March of the Machines was removed and back then replaced with Defensive Matrix. For a lot of players, that was a good change. This latest change though could really power down the hero since it lowers his offensive capabilities. Actually, the impact has been felt. If you head on over to Dotabuff, Tinker's win rate has dropped from 49.08% to 33.65% as of this writing.
This change though could have been made considering that one of Tinker's Facet is Repair Bots which lets the March of the Machines apply a non-stacking heal for allied heroes. The other Facet is Translocator which enhances Defense Matrix. From the look of things, Tinker may be relegated to support soon.
A Stronger Assassin
On the other side of the coin, Phantom Assassin just got a bit scarier. Now initially her Blur ability seems to have been nerfed. After all it no longer grants evasion and no longer allows to attack without dispelling the ability. The weird thing is that when you choose her Veiled One Facet, it results in Blur no longer dispelled on attack. That's not all since while Blur is active all mana costs are lowered by 30% and once it's dispelled, all abilities and items have no mana cost for 5 seconds.
Her Innate Ability is Immaterial and lets her start with 15% Evasion with an increase of 1.5% per level. Have mentioned that at Level 15 you can add an additional 15% Immaterial Evasion?
These are just two of the heroes that have undergone changes. You can check out the complete list of changes here. If you want to know more about Innate Abilities and Facets, you can read more about them here.
What did you think of these changes? Does it make you want to play more?
