Donny van de Beek the latest 'upset' Man Utd player as dressing room issues escalate

Donny van de Beek has reportedly become the latest Manchester United player to grow increasingly frustrated with the club’s decisions this month.

Ralf Rangnick has been forced to address a number of dressing room issues, since he replaced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the end of last year.

Shortly after his appointment, Rangnick had to contend with Anthony Martial’s agent going public with his desire to leave Old Trafford.

He then had to address a ‘dispute’ with Cristiano Ronaldo, who reacted very negatively to being substituted against Brentford.

Ronaldo also spoke candidly about his frustration with the direction of the club, just months after completing an emotional return.

The 36-year-old took aim at some of the younger players, before hinting he was not impressed with fighting for fourth place.

The January window has been a difficult one for the interim boss, with several players - other than Martial - pushing to leave.

Jesse Lingard is hoping to move to Newcastle United on loan, having seen potential deals with Tottenham and West ham scuppered by Red Devils’ chiefs.

Reports have claimed that Lingard feels ‘disrespected’ by his boyhood club, who have inserted huge loan clauses to make a move this month difficult.

Mirror Football understands that United will request a £6m loan fee up front for the 29-year-old, whilst also demanding his wages are paid in their entirety, along with a huge £12m bonus liable if the Magpies survive relegation.

That is making a potential move to the north East highly unlikely, leaving him facing the prospect of more months on the bench.

Van de Beek is in a similar situation to Lingard, with both battling to earn a place in their respective national teams for this winter’s World Cup.

The former Ajax midfielder has seen his stock dramatically decrease since being signed by United at the start of last season.

After struggling to break into Solskjaer’s XI, he will have been hoping that the change in the dugout represented a change in his fortunes, but thus far he has played just a solitary Premier League minute under the German.

Similarly to Lingard, Van de Beek is pushing for a loan move this month and Manchester Evening News claim he feels ‘misled and upset’ over his standing in the squad in his second season.

Van de Beek was close to completing a loan move to Everton in the summer, ultimately staying at Old Trafford with the belief he could be a more regular contributor.

But with that now not on the cards, he would like to earn regular minutes elsewhere amid speculation with Crystal Palace and Borussia Dortmund.

United are said to be reluctant to let Van de Beek leave ahead of the deadline, as a precaution should the squad be ravaged by a Covid-19 outbreak between now and the end of the season.
